Large Scale Central

A bad day?

We laughed a few years ago at the photo of fire hoses running across the railroad track. Turns out, the firemen were out on a call and decided to take a silly photo since they knew there was no traffic on that track.

Well, now it really happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0O7DP3i0ao

The original photo:

Even back in '72 we were taught to bury the hose under track, packed ballast or no.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

What is the word in “Maine speak” for dumba** ?

I guess the phrase “you seen one railroad, you seen them all” is now clearly wrong to a certain fire department.

Greg

We have a retired firefighter in our little model RR club. The stories he could tell … are hinted at by the stories he does tell …

This photo and topic was aired a few years ago, either here or MLS. I believe a reason was given why they did it that way ut as a former fire officer I would not have approved whatever the reason was.

Well, they called a railroad and told them that they had a hose on the track. Isn’t that good enough? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

It would have been, but they called the wrong RR.
