This past weekend we were at the Silverton, CO Railfest and had the opportunity to ride on the 315 with the grandkids. I also had the opportunity to meet Dave Taylor who had a major hand in assisting the the restoration of the locomotive and is a walking history book on the evolution of the restoration project. He’s a great guy who will take any time necessary to answer questions. Next week he will be in Chama, NM with the 315 for their celebration. They flat-bed haul the locomotive and tender from Durango to Chama on a tank tender that can handle the load. Would love to see that. I’ll try to post a picture of the train on the tracks in another topic.

Anytime any of you are in Silverton during the August Railfest, look up Dave. Neat guy. And see what the volunteer group is working on now.
