Seems that a link posted in the clear will open in a new tab in Firefox, but one using a URL tag opens in the current tab. Testing;

1 clear text link: http://www.cvsry.com

2 URL Tag link: My Website

Kinda interesting … I get the same results if I ‘pick’ with the left mouse button, but if I ‘click’ using the mouse wheel it opens in a separate tab either way.

Actually nice to know, most wysiwyg editors give you the option to open the link in the current window or a new one…

I prefer to post links that open a new window (and most people’s browsers use a new tab, but the command is new_window)… that way the “browser” does not need to lose his place or have to go back, and he can explore the new “path” at his leisure…
