Ballast Hoppers ( older style )

Hi Guys,

Yesterday three Aristo offset coal hoppers arrived at my house, and the first has been lengthened to 40’. The plan is to turn them into three 40’ ballast hoppers, with two in the modern CN scheme (shown), and one in the older “Canadian National” scheme. This is supposed to be a winter project, but I wanted to get one started just to see how it will fit in with the Work900 fleet.

Thanks John. I wish these had the simple slide doors. These old cars are a little more complex. It took awhile, but I think I finally found a good enough photo to start designing the doors.

Looks good. I have some USAT 3 bay hoppers patiently waiting to be kitbashed into some ballast hoppers someday…
