Large Scale Central

high price in pain but track is now laid on balcony.

I’m paying a high price in pain but track is now laid on the balcony.

(with a little help flown in from the Alaska wilderness)

And speaking of things lying on the balcony, Georgie is too.

And now Grumman kitty joins the party.

At this time they have chased a fly inside, are themselves inside, and the screen is shut.

Getting there. I’d suggest going for a 'tabletop layout using the balcony rails as ‘legs’ with a lift bridge near the door so you can access the center. Save the back.

The lift bridge on our HO layout at model train club is a no-no for me any more due to spinal trouble.
A couple club members even built a counterweight for it to help me, but it turned out that just the lifting and turning of my upper body while using it was enough to cause trouble.

There are several different neurological, endocrine, mitochondrial things going on, & on top of that several musculoskeletal things happening all over my body from my feet to my hands to my neck. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

I seriously want a refund on this body, but since I didn’t buy it to begin with, there is no refund! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

These are from May 2010 when I had just Grumman; it was June 2010 when Georgie entered our life.
The track here is the Big Hauler set tinplate track; which was totally NOT weather resistant.

(so I painted the ties and the sides of the rails to at least interrupt the environmental effects on those)

I am happy to now have this track which can be just left out there.

My mind is cross-referencing that with the couple of times where their predatory drive has gotten the better of one or the other of them …

Hmmm…maybe go the elevated route with a dog bone type plan - ‘indent’ the center section a bit. No lift bridge needed then.

Forrest;

Fortunately, Ruby has not envisioned the train as prey to date. That is a good thing, since Ruby is mostly Maine coon cat and weighs over 17 pounds.

Best wishes, David Meashey

Aww, she’s sweet, and pretty.

These 2 characters have each topped out at 11 pounds and change.

This year, Grumman is 12 years old & Georgie is 10 years.

Thanks to the wonders of modern medication,

Georgie chased the orange HLW ‘Sparky’ around the track for a lap! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

How much do those cats weigh? I ask as I have the same color male cat and at 8 months old is over 12 pounds and stretchecd out is 34 inches long!!

They are each 11 lbs and change with Georgie being a bit heavier than Grumman since G-man is about 30% hair.

Huh, I had no idea about that LGB car. Interesting thing it is.
