Spring 2021 Video thread

Well, here in FL Spring looks much like winter. Even the locos are similar!

Nice video and viewpoint, Shane. Maybe move the house next time or cover it with a backdrop? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

perfect day for this!

A shorty video which my friend shot…

Sean,

Something on the diesel train sure needs lubrication. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Summer is here, but the trains continue to run. . .

Winter Downunder on a cold grey day. Makes for a nice plume of steam…

A refurb’ of the Addledoo Bush Tramway was required after termites attacked the pressure treated pine sleepers in the retaining wall. This took longer than expected, June2020-2021 and still not finished.

While I was at it I modified the layout which required construction of a curved trestle and “Rich Pickens” bull-dust processing plant. Bags of BS available at the loading dock!

(A quick and dirty video with zero prep’)

Nice videos of Summer trains running guys.

This year has been a bumper crop for Chipmunks and they are all over the RR, digging holes and making a mess. In this video the MOW crew installs a custom cut pipe that has served as a direct route for the Chipmunks so they do not have to undermine the track.

Hah!

Love the crew!!

Yes,

It’s “Old hat” I just felt a need for some Amtrak in this thread !

Todd,

Loved your, you’re crew or as I call them “My Guys”!

Might have to send you some of “My Guys”

That first vid looks like the corridor

That is one long cool Amtrak train Rooster. I like your cast of characters. I think it is fun to add some whimsy to the RR, we are actually running toy trains after all and you gotta have some fun right?

Is that the traveling Rooster from several years ago? He visited my RR in 2014 and caused some trouble. It’s funny to see that old video and realize all the improvements to the RR since then.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take the time to make any pictures, but a test train rain all existing track with only a few minor incidents last week. This is a major accomplishment since you could not even see most of the track before we left for Colorado a month ago. Before we left, I sprayed the right-of way with weed killer and by the time we got home, all the weeds were dried up and gone (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)That still wasn’t enough to allow a train to pass. I had to do some major cutting of Pachysandra and Sedum that was growing in and over the track. I tried not to spray the killer on anything but weeds.

It had been over a year since all of my outdoor track was operated. It still needs ballasting and some leveling in spots, but with slow-orders it is operational. Perhaps some pics and/or a short video this coming weekend.

Gardens still need a lot of work, and there has been no track maintenance this year, but trains are running (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
