Odd 2036 Trolley?

Hi all,

I was taking a look at my stash of 2035/3500 and 2036/3600 Trolley stuff today, and I ran across something a little odd. The labels on two 2036 boxes of similar vintage (as best I can tell) have different labels, making me wonder if it’s just a mistake, or if there was an odd early variant of the 2036 with a different pantograph.

As most know, the 2035 uses a diamond-style pantograph while the 2036 uses a bar type pantograph. The LGB literature calls the latter an “old-timer”. But take a look at the labels from the two boxes - two different style pantographs! Unfortunately, the box with the diamond style pantograph had been repurposed by the seller to hold a 3600, so I have no idea what it held originally.

Anyone have any details on whether the 2036 might have had a diamond style panto in the early days? Maybe just a label mistake that slipped through

Thanks,

Trent

My info shows the 2036 Christmas trolley with the pole, others with the diamond.

Also note the LGB 1988 trolley had the loop, not pole or diamond.
