chatacter of styrene

Interesting observation of styrene, when building my this years MIK challenge I needed to bend a flat plate of some type over the top of my “concrete” foundation blocks for termite shields, and after several failed attempts settled on .10 styrene sheets cut into small squares, found it non bendy and wanted them to fold over the blocks, wound up placing them over an extra block and heating with a heat gun, the curled great except apparently they are side sensitive and only curl 1 way found that I had to try an edge and see which way it curled and if wrong way turn it over and proceed, must have some thing to do with the way it is made, anyone else run into this?

Very interesting. Will have to file that in the old memory bank . Hmmmmmmm what was i supposed to file? Oh Yea heat up the brain and have a warped mind, that the termites can’t eat

Thanks Bill that will help, Hmmmmm help what?

Dennis

That’s interesting Bill. I wouldn’t have guessed that.

Have only done a small bit of heat forming styrene and not recently. Sure would not have expected that!
