By the way, the battery compartment just kills me! I'm stealing that idea.

      Day 20,

Well this just about wraps it up for me, A couple signs, a few details, and maybe a little more weathering before final pictures.

      A few finished shots.

As I said before the area where this depot will sit isn't built yet, so I am not sure of its orientation to the tracks so I haven't attached the steps to the building and decided to use chain in place of rails around the porch.  The chain hangs on hooks and can be taken down or located to another bay as required.

And the reason for all the fuss, "The Chimney".  Decided to use the wood aging solution on the roof, same one I used on the Camp Six buildings, it darkened them a little but I think it is just going to take some sun and water to get them to the aged look.

Now I can get back to the Snow PLow and spend more time following along on everybody elses builds

Thanks for following along as this came together

Looking great Rick. Quoted to bring the pics

Bill, if you ask me this is shaping up to be another year when it's almost impossible to pick a favorite. I really enjoy the Challenge and getting something built, but I absolutely enjoy seeing all the other builds and following along just as much.

Rick, awesome job, just a quick question, how do you get to the battery to switch the lights on or off? or did I miss that part? great idea. I might have to ripoff borrow with proper credit, that idea also. Thanks.

The switch is mounted through the shed wall underneath the building and the shed roof is removable to access the battery. Look back at the start of the shed picture and you can see the back of the switch down in the corner.
