Hello all,
I recently purchased a 36 Ton Bachmann Shay that was probably a DCC convert but the guts, etc were removed.
The engine does not have the weight in the bunker (that is why I suspect it once was DCC).
I am looking for a bunker weight as I run DC track only.
If you have one, let me know what you want for it.

a small zip lock bag of buck shot could be used as a substitute.

Kevin S suggested foil packets of shot, I just filled spaces and the added glue to seal the deal.
I got a bag of shot. I dunno if its buck shot, or bird shot, I just asked for the smallest shot they had. Its darn heavy, and as much as there is in the bag, it will probably last me for the rest of my life.
one of my kit bashed 2010 lgb engines was too light and I added bird shot to the sand and steam dome, helped alot
Jerry, I have a Shay bunker weight if you need it, but the buck/birdshot trick works just as well.

careful with adding glue to birdshot, some glue will expand after setting, stretched some E8 fuel tanks that way

I use Quik grip glue (walmart has the best price [4.97], fabric shops the highest price [7.99]).
