Santa Fe passenger run

First run on my new layout of the MTH Santa Fe passenger run. Not sure why, but this uploaded to a different you tube page that I’ve never used, did not go to my old you tube page.

Jerry, your old page is probably an http address, we are now secure here and use an https address.

That has been the running problem with many embeds, no s on the end.

Jerry, that’s really nice. Nice USAT diesels and passenger cars there. Are you running battery or track powered? What kind of track and I assume that you’re mounting the track to the blocks?

Thanks Michael, but that whole set is MTH engines and cars, as I mentioned in my post. Track power using MTH’s digital DCS system. I have their full line of steam engines and all work great. Considering you are getting sound and yjr nrdy smoke offered with the engines can make them a bargain. The newer ones can be controlled with just DC power or DCC and the DCS system and you can use your phone and wi-fi for control if you wish.

Whoops! Sorry, I didn’t see the “MTH” in your post! I’m not too familiar with the quality of MTH G scale products. It’s good to see some diesels running on this board though.

Track work looks good too, Jerry. What kind of track and are you securing it to the blocks or just have it floating?

Thanks Mike. I’ve used SVRR code 250 track for thirty years and it is great, I don’t like the larger code 332 of LGB/USA/Aristo, trains look better on 250. SVRR’s switches are also great, can’t go wrong with them. They have NG ties and mainline.

very nice Jerry

Nice, very nice - now where is the GT RPO… ??? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Here you go Bob, just for you! Well, I had fun making the first run of my Army train on the new layout. My new MTH Veteran’s Tribute dash 8 pulls my Army train now.

Jerry, I assume that’s aluminum rail or are you still using your nickel or stainless 250 from 30 years ago? That darn nickel and stainless is cost prohibitive now.

Still the SVRR code 250 NS. great stuff! Replaced some ties when I moved, probably original ones.

Jerry, It’s great to see you running again. What a fast turn around to your new, awesome layout. It not only looks great but also appears from your construction techniques that it should hold up to the elements really well. I always like to see your MTH equipment running. I’m sure that your go to guy Ray Manley will keep you on the cutting edge of MTH technology. You enlightened me about him a while back and I thank you for that. He is awesome. He is a genuine stand up person who really knows his stuff. Good stuff!..Mark

Videos are great, Jerry… Good to see the layout up and running… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Awesome Vet train; okay I will pass on the RPO for now!

Now if I can figure out how to post a video of my Vet train - I’ll be fine. Posted a drone pic of the PAZ into PAZ Freight Shed but cannot get it to post. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

Video Embedding

This topic has to be re-mastered every time the site owner makes an upgrade to the software. For this incarnation the procedure is…

  1. Grab the embed code from the YouTube video (directly on the video) right click in OPERA (copy embed code); right click in FireFox (Copy embed code); right click in Chrome (get embed code);right click in IE (get embed code).

  2. In the reply window click on “insert/edit video” button in the top row (looks like a movie frame), and select “Embed”.

  3. Paste the embed code (copied from YouTube) in the box and click “OK”.

That’s what we all found works now. Some day down the road we will have to find a new way for new software, but for now this works. Have fun!

Photo inserting

  1. Start by uploading your photos to a server. You have storage space in the Freight Shed on this web site.
  2. After they are uploaded, click on the file you want to open.
  3. Once it is opened, RIGHT click on the picture and select copy image location. DO NOT use the url in the address bar of your browser.
  4. Next click on the insert photo button in your post and paste the image location in the source line.
  5. Look at the dimensions. You will see them if you click on the first box (height). Make it 800 then click on the second box and it will automatically be correctly scaled.
  6. Then hit OK and your photo will be in your post.

Mark, glad you are working with Ray on your MTH stuff. He is very helpful and being a great repairman and always willing to share his knowledge and help one out.

Here you go Bob;

Bob your Freight Shed will last longer if you resize to 800 wide from the present 2400… before uploading

thank you John… never looked at size.

Jerry, now I’ll work on ‘my’ military train–I was Air Force went to Army / Navy / Marine schools and you’ll see the Aristo collection. Rocket is oversized (wow) of the AIR-2A Genie nuclear warhead the was carried by Air Defense Command interceptors, I was

with the 95th Fighter Interceptor Squadron F-106s out of Dover DELAWARE. SAC tanker when I was at Wichlta KANSAS and EOD supported the Titan Missisle silos. *have a Huey to 1:32 to build and replace the Loach.

(eventually have to put EOD school graphics on each boxcar) ha, ha

again, your new layout came together nicely and quite fast… keep the spirit!

Nice to see the new layout Jerry… Looking good again and like the Army stuff. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Thanks Noel. Ran live steam today.
