No usa trains, but Piko and Bachmann in terms of manufacturers.

For discounters, no Al Kramer, or the others, but Gold Coast (not much discount) and Star Hobby always has good prices.

Additionally…,

I’ve made arrangements for Orange County Garden Railway Society Members to be able to run their trains on the Fairplex layout on Sunday between 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

So Star Hobby came all the way out to L.A. from the Right Coast. But USA Trains didn’t. At the National Garden Railroad convention last Summer in the Bay Area, USA Trains was represented by a small booth with one, maybe two guys at the most minding the ‘store’. Bachmann was not represented at all.

I would think two of the largest manufacturers of G scale trains would show up to train conventions/shows in major metropolitan areas. Maybe they don’t feel that it’s a worthwhile investment to represent the company in person, answer questions, and ‘press the flesh’ at these big shows? I know it’s not cheap to travel between the two coasts and set up temporary shop but…
