I thought I would share a very nice gear simulator I found on the web. It takes a bit to figure out how to create gears with axle connections (check the axle connection box with a gear selected) but after that its a lot of fun. You can also stack the gears to take up less space by adjusting the connection angle.

Im using it to calculate gear reduction for a Mamod T2 conversion to a “Thing” engine. It sure beats trial and error and all the time spent fiddling.

Im no engineer so can’t vouch for its accuracy but it looks “about right”.
