Memorial Run Day at Tradewinds & Atlantic RR

Saturday was a memorial Run day for Jon Hollahan, one of the founders of TARR. We ran trains - big ones, small ones. Mine are the latter. (See http://www.livesteamers.org/ for the big ones.)

This is the first time we’ve got to TARR this winter season - been a lot going on. But I couldn’t resist a last chance to run “Henry”, the big Dreyfuss Hudson and my USAT coaches.

Here’s a quick 45 sec video, which demonstrates the improvement in performance now I figured out the bypass valve. The loco is wearing in nicely.

I also brought the small stuff. “Dora” and the Dordlebug was disappointment, again, as it no longer seems to make enough steam to run freely. Maybe moving the air collar on the jet housing to cut down the whistle as strangled it!

But “Annie”, the De Winton carrying 7/8ths scale figures, worked with no problems.

Nice looking De Winton Pete, Would like to see it in the video.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Pete,

Time come back north. Winter is over.

Ric,

The locos are now mothballed for the summer - all butane evaporated and boilers empty.

However, I’m off to Baja California to run around in a 47’ powercat for a couple of weeks with some pals, so we won’t be back north until June!
