Large Scale Central

Pics from May 30 train meet

I hope I have the photo-posting process figured out. Here goes…

Here are some photos from my May 30 train meet. The layout is an imaginary line that runs among the towns of Roseville, Olivia and Peppertree.

Here are some pics of Roseville. If this works, I’ll post a few more.

Okay, that seemed to work!

I belong to the Gold Coast Garden Railway Club in Southern California. Members live as far south as Burbank and as far north as Bakersfield. A great goup of people, about 80 strong. Very active club.

Here’s a pic heading toward Olivia:

I hope you enjoyed these!

I did. Thanks!

Great looking railroad Joe. What’s the difference in elevation?

Thanks Chuck. The elevation gain is a bit under six feet. Maximum grade is 3 1/2%.

Don’t see a dang thing.

Looks great Joe!

Beautiful settings!

Great Pictures, and a wonderful looking layout… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Very nice RR and I love how it is all very well detailed. I especially like the bridge leading into the shop.

Thanks guys. The base of the bridge leading into the shop is at five feet so its pretty easy to walk under. It’s a tight squeeze between the retaining wall and the shop so I incorporated several sidings in the shop as part of the working layout. Gives me a bit more operation interest.

By the way, you cannot see any of the layout from our living room or family room. That was the caveat my wife placed on me. So two of the towns are at the extreme edges of the property and most of the layout is behind a hedge on a downslope away from the house. She’s loosening up a bit now so maybe I’ll actually get some flat ground to work with!

Very nice and thanks for sharing I hope that switch in the bottom center is thrown the right way!!

Ah, the switch to nowhere. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I’m impressed you caught that! I’ve got the switch throw taped to the correct direction. No disasters so far! A future spur.

Yeah well I also wondered about the gentleman and his lady relaxing on the ladder loop at Olivia but clearly it didn’t bother you or they wouldn’t be sitting there.

Gotta watch the eyes of an old Rooster

Plenty of old farts in the other pictures…

Wow Joe. Terrific railroad. Is that couple actually sitting on your track? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

Very nice layout. Tk’s for the photos. it look great.

On a short note Joe… if happen to come to Sacto Steam Up and they won’t let you run Batt. power… you can always put it on some tracks here. There Nat. Steam up is only a mile or so from our house… lol.
