Large Scale Central

Bondic

I just saw this in another forum, it’s an adhesive that cures using light from a special LED: Bondic

And a video:

Anybody tried this yet? Looks interesting.

They’ve been using something similar in the Dental industry for years. First time I’ve seen a consumer application.

Buy some Bruce…give us a review…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I was thinking the same thing, clearly we must be brushing our teeth and flossing properly Jon or we wouldn’t know this.

Yeah!

Or you could just buy some and ship it to Ken and myself and we will do a review for you.

UV glues are used to set watch crystals too… I imagine that’s a uv led.

John

Looks pretty cool.

My concern is the price, $25 plus shipping for a small “tube”.

Ralph

Appears to be a few other alternatives available.

I just typed in Bondic at the Amazon site… url looked a tad different.

I’d like to see the eyeglass repair without a bunch of video cuts. How long, exactly, did that take?

This is more “real time”

I don’t know if I’d have been standing next to the blade when he fired it up…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Looks like it bonds pretty quick…

I’m pretty sure I would have. Then after it impaled me I would say “D’oh, I should have thought about that.”

Wear protective glasses for bounce light. When setting watch crystals we put them in a hood and never saw the light.

This has been Ol’ 3 Fingers with a better’n safe than sorry warning…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I have used the stuff, and I don’t think it holds as well as Cyano. It also has issues holding on some surfaces. It is pricey for what you get.
