      Marx Vanderbilt Wind Up Freight Set

       

      Marx 526 Wind Up Freight Set w/401 Locomotive

       

      I couldn't help myself..

      The526 set is for my Great-Grand-Nephew's 5th Birthday.

      The Tin Plate Cars will be replaced with Marx Plastic cars

      before I ship it to him. 

       

      I couldn't resist another drink of that Kool Aid...

      This one is my birthday present to myself.

      I picked up this Marx sparkie set from Pete Thorton's daughter.

       

      Yesterday I bought another Marx sparkie at a train show.

       

       

      Then I couldn't resist this Marx engine for $5. This looks like the electric version of your 401.

      Not content to haul freight with the 221 Dreyfuss, I began the hunt for NYC Streamline cars to build a consist.  My first acquisition is a Lionel O27 NYC Poughkeepsie Observation Car.

      I've got the head & the tail to the train, so now I just need to fill in the middle.
