Bummer. My little Microlux belt sander crapped out today.
The gear is stripped. It was one of my favorite tools, too. The problem is that they don’t sell this tool any more. Not sure what happened. Any ideas for replacement?

R/C car gears?? Can’t tell from the picture but R/C car stuff is crazy anymore and wouldn’t be surprised if you couldn’t find a replacement gear there. Just a thought?
Probably made in the same factory as Bachmann stuff
Actually I beat ya to wearing one out…There are options!

Have you tried one of these Bart? They both look quite a bit larger…
This may be too large, but I have had one of these, used it hard and put her away wet for 20 years.
Dave these are minature belt sanders about 7" long used to be sold be Sears as a mini tool line and Micromark, suddenly the well dried up.
No Bruce I’m working on my 2nd Microlux one though, figgered that this would be the direction I would have to go if this one goes kaput. It looks a bit larger but I think its largely cause of the upper housing, the rough dimensions look promising…
I wrote to Micro Mark and they suggested that I send it in for repairs, which I did last week.
Today I got a nice call - they can repair it and will send it back tomorrow! New cord and new gear plus postage - $31.
I’m happy
Sounds like a deal, Bruce…
Kudos to Micro-Mark! I got my sander back yesterday and it looks brand new. It was sent away in pieces and now it’s all there and works great. They even gave me a new belt. This should give you an idea of the size of this sander.
Glad they fixed you up Bruce. And agree with the well deserved kuddos for MicroMark a good company to deal with
AWESOME!!!
Great that doesn’t happen to often.
