Got magnets?

I was in need of some magnets for sound triggers. I like to use the little rare earth (neodymium) magnets glued to a small slab of slate. Usually they run about a buck a piece. Today in the check out aisle of my home depot I spotted this little dodad -

It’s a Striker Light Mine, a super bright LED light covered with a dozen neodymium magnets and all for $4.20. Quite the bargain! -Brian

OK, what is a Striker Light Mine’s actual intended purpose?

Honestly, it reminds me of the XQJ-37 rotoplooker of “Joe’s Garage” fame.

I don’t know either, but I would hazard a guess that the way the magnets are arranged permits the lamp to be mounted at pretty well any angle you might desire.

Yes you can use it to stick to metal surfaces at just about any angle. Good for working in tight spaces.
The packages also says good for picking up dropped nails and such.

Brian, check online. I got 50 of them for around $8.

I hunted around a bit and couldn’t find the back of the truck they fell off of for you.

K & J Magnetics! http://www.kjmagnetics.com/

These would work well for sound triggers: 1/8" dia. x 1/16" thick 50 for $6.50

They have a lot of different styles and sizes and they deliver very quickly.
