    • I posted on FB But thought I'd share here as well.  This is what you get when you buy the $60 SD70 Shell.

    • Dan,

The locomotive shells are listed on the ad, but yah, I'm sure a phone call would make sure you get them. Not a bad price for a GP30 shell.

You can order online. The ad is a clickable ad. I'm debating on some 50' mechanical refers..

Craig,  I assumed he meant the locomotive shells.  You must call in for those.

Is this good forum etiquette to notify each other regarding PMs?

I've seen our thread cop suggest it and requests for emails, so it must be ok, if you're special.....

You must have found the last one.  Before ordering from Active Powersports I searched both via Google and directly in ebay and couldn't find the MTH version.   I found a number of O scale brass ones and the MTH fuel and water column versions. Perhaps the searchfu was weak with me.

Too bad the vendor doesn't have a better online system that actually ties to stock on hand.  Hopefully his estimate is accurate and I'll have it by end of April; fingers crossed.  I'm old and retired and I am trying to do things now, not later.

    • Jason, you must have gotten the last one.  I received the following form the vendor -

"Unfortunately the item that you ordered is currently back ordered until late April. "

Patience I guess will be a virtue.

Thanks for your reply and picture.  I had the TFCM column on my to buy list (that's why I sort of knew what Ian was asking about) for a couple of years but obviously waited too long.  I just ordered the MTH O scale version today from Active Powersports and hopefully it is actually in stock and they have one to ship.

    • From post: MTH Water Column mod... (During the Invasion, Fred showed me the MTH Water Columns. I know, they've been out for some time, but I had never seen one in person. For under $20, you could just use it to get a nice metal water spout for a water tank, but I decided I'd get some to use in a small space where I didn't have room for a tank. They seem a bit oversize for O scale, but look pretty good for my 1:20 stuff. The only problem is that it's a bit short, to say the least.[:p] So, when they arrived, I immediately took one completely apart to see what I could do to make it taller. I found that the column was a 5/16 OD copper tube. I saw that Hobbylinc had 5/16" aluminum rod and decided that would be good enough. Painted black, it fits right in. I may still shorten it a bit, but it was sure an easy bash.

In the picture, the original MTH Water Column is shown on the left. The modified one is shown next to a Connie tender.)

I found this was a cheap and simple solution to the problem of not finding one of the Three Foot Classic.
