Large Scale Central

Construction on The Sunny View Line

My first 40 feet of track has weathered several heavy rain falls since it was put down several weeks ago. No wash outs or repairs needed.
I’m waiting on some switches to build the yard before continuing the main line.

Tried to post a picture.Something did not work right. It may be me!

It’s the spaces and parenthesis. Delete the file, rename it on your computer without any spaces or punctuation (_ and - are OK) then try again. I can view the picture in another window using http://www.lscdata.com/users/cabby/_forumfiles/100_0080%20(Small).JPG

But even that link will not work from here.

Thank you, Hope I have it right this time. Ralph

Here is a picture of the other side of the walk over. I still have some heavy earth moving to do over here. The layout will end near the Crab apple tree in the center. Ralphhttp://

The yard will come off the yet to be completed passing track on the left.

Looking good Ralph - Almost ready to run trains

Thanks Jon, I have already run a few hours even though I still have some leveling and ballasting to do. Here is the first home in the town of Cooper’s Gap. Just roughed in for now.

Good to see a new line going in. Jerry

Very nice so far. I am also just starting my line. I got the area cleared and started on the mountain. I hope to start laying track soon. Check it out on Garden railway site (Kittatinny Mt RR)

Ralph, that looks like clay.

Dig fast! When summer comes and that stuff dries out, hitting it with a mattock will have you vibing like a tuning fork!

Ha!
Just some good ole Carolina red dirt! It will put a nice red stain in any clothing it comes in contact with.

The rain stopped long enough for me to put down some more track. It rained quite a bit here for most of last week. No problems with the track I already had down. Ralphhttp://

Looking good!

Had some nice weather and was able to start moving a little dirt. I have shortened the planned route so just maybe I can have it operational in a month or so. The cinder blocks are temporary, just holding dirt until I can build the bridge abutments. Ralphhttp://

Looks great Ralph. I’m trying to visualize the track plan. Will the track on the left of the picture curve and cross over one of the tracks on the right? That raised deck looks like a great place to run and watch trains from

The outer loop travels around the Cedar tree and will cross over the inner loop twice via bridges. The inner loop travels under the first bridge, circles around and under the second bridge. I built the deck with the GRR in mind. Of course, I constructed the deck first and people thought maybe I was a little strange. I erased all doubts from their minds when I announced that, due to global warming, I was preparing for the rising ocean levels. Ralph
