Bill, here is no ‘standard’ though Aristocraft and USAT did start using JST. I find it best to pick one and stick to it, though it isn’t difficult to make a convertor with diofferent plugs on each end.
Female connectors on the power source - always. Just like your power outlets on the walls of your home.
