      Jens Handro K27

I'm sure some of you have seen this video (  https://youtu.be/aemeGDdrzJs  ).  About the 2:30 mark you see his smoke features.  I know it accomplished with a fan for the stack,  but how does he get the other special effects?

I do what John said or for U-Tube vids I use embed code.

Cool stuff Mickey. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I am not complaining because the glass is half empty nor that it is half full..it is simply the wrong flavor!

WOW! HE even had steam coming from the electric generator, and the bell swings, in sync with the bell sounds. Impressive.

I'm trying to figure out how to get in touch with him to see if he has any work in progress videos.

If you are on Facebook, he is a member of the 1:20.3 Fine Scale Model Railways group.

I don't do Facebook.  Can you ask him if he has any 'in progress' videos?

So I'm still looking for the answer to my original post.

Well, several smoke generators, clearly fan driven. Just one for the dynamo, and a burst (probably a strong pulse) for the one coming out the side... another for the drain cocks probably.

Surprised he did not do the dual drain cocks on the cylinders, you can buy locos off the shelf that has that...

The bell is done with a servo, and if I remember correctly, you can make loosen up the johnson lever and have the linkage move, so attach another servo and away you go.

It's not really all that complex nowadays, servos and cheap and DCC decoders have direct outputs to servos. Just takes time fitting the linkages and motors and smoke units, really more of a mechanical task than electrical/electronic.

If you want something with this stuff, look at the KISS locos.
