Two new customers on the NK&F

The NK&F is proud to announce two new customers. Track still needs upgrading before trains can roll. Something tells me there will be some strange loads from this building. Hopefully this will add much needed revenue for the RR.

Hehe…GAME ON !

Tell Marconi to keep his goat cars away from my Emporium as it’s ruining business

I may need to build a wall. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I’ll stock plenty of burlap bags for the poultry trade and fence supplies for the birds you want to contain.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

New dishes and finery for the ladies of the area

With a name like Marconi, I’d a’thot it would’ve been an Italian place, like Marconi’s Macaroni. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Marconi’s Short Wave Radio Shop, and Telegraph Office.

That brick and stone with green trim has to be a classic industrial look of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Ah, I like the roof lights; if I can ever have a garden railway that is a thing to keep in mind.

Now that’s funny. A KFC next door would keep Rooster in line…

Nice looking building… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Looking good Dennis. Are those pet chickens out front, escapees or statues to be used to clean ones boots before entering the emporium?

They are making a run for it.

Dennis

Dennis, Did you build that structure or is it a kit? nice looking building. My RR needs to get on the ball and get some customers so that more rolling stock and locomotives can be acquired. The CFO/CEO/the Checkbook holder has said no more cars until there are buildings and scenery. how did you bribe Marconi and The Chicken man to pony up for the building?or are they just renting the space?

The building is bashed from 2-3 Pola engine shed kits. It makes a nice but somewhat expensive building as the kits are still a bit $$$. I couldn’t bring myself to scribe all those bricks in foam board. Marconi and Rooster are shrewd businessmen. I had to give them the first 6 months of rail service free. I have been looking at Colorado Model Structures, they seem to be fairly inexpensive compared to Pola and Piko , I am ordering some soon to see haw they are, but from the videos on their website the are pretty good

Saw some at the last Florida rail fair in Deland, FL in January that a dealer had the are authorized by CMS to sell them, they paint, assy and decorate them, they looked nice and sturdy, Bill

We have quite a few of Colorado Model Structures on the Outside layout… Jane paints them and puts them together… To increase the weight and stability of the wall panels, she adds an inside wall of clear acrylic plastic that we buy at Home Depot…

The acrylic we buy is used as window replacements for storm doors… I believe it’s like 0.93 thickness… This acrylic plastic also creates the windows for the building…
