Farwell, Lafayette, Irving, & Prospect Rwy

Finally got a place I could actually set things up, while temporary, for the first time since I was sleeping through trigonometry.

Here are some highlights from last summer/fall and hoping to expand as that raised flowerbed allows.

It’s been nice returning to the fold. And trying to get a whole new batch into the hobby at the school I teach at.

Welcome Bill, tell us a little bit about your railroad, for instance, the name is interesting, from what is it derived?

The name is derived from the 4 streets that border my block in Milwaukee.  Calling it the Flip Line for short.

Equipment I plan on running this summer on my little L-loop with siding:

      Lionel Large-Scale GP (IC-9033)

      Aristo FA (Rock)

      Aristo Lil‘ Critter (UP)

EBT hopper (unknown), B&O trailer piggy-back (Aristo), Soo drop end gondola (Aristo), NS covered hopper (USAT), D&RGW hopper (unknown), Gramps tank car (Bachmann), Aristo UP bobber (electrifying project for evening runs), D&RGW lighted long wooden caboose (USAT)

Just planning on setting up on days I have nothing planned and inviting friends over to watch them run around. And since the building super plans on gardening in there again, may have to modify my track plans.

Thanks Bill for the additional information.

Yea, that's how it starts, just a small loop, I will only run it when friends come over, I'm not going to spend a lot of time or money on this, etc, etc.

Well almost everybody here started that way

      Welcome, Bill.

      We all started somewhere.

I even had most of my equipment out on the line, too!  Have to say, the Ultima had an easy time, even when all 3 Aristo engines were sitting with lights on and the Lionel GP was pulling the longer train with lighted USA Trains caboose.

Brought home enough track from school to run this weekend. I have enough that I can leave it here and still have enough loops for the kids in the school club

This is where it begins, will be interesting to see where it goes.
Dang, man, if only there had been that kind of teacher at my school ...

From my set up this morning. I need to mulch the bed to level it out. I can’t leave the rail out due to the ease of it walking in this area.
