      Sorry Pete, understand now.... you could have used that rectifiers that are used by the the table leds for the main led lighting should you have wanted to use track power.

      As this thread is labelled "Diner Lighting" I will continue to add to it until I am finished with lighting.

      Yes ...but YOU did ask how to remove the roof ?

      Yep - first step in dealing with the lighting, right?

      Final installment.  I test fit the battery before replacing the trucks, and it is a perfect fit between the ribs.

      I'll probably put a strap over the battery using the 2 screws into the pcb inside, as you can see.  Later.

      Footnote:
      While packing the coach back in its box, I picked up the Instruction Manual.  (Out dropped an order form for the 1991 Color Catalog.)  Two things in the manual were of interest.

       - the roof removal process was detailed (as always, read the manual first!) so you can fix the lights;

       - the interior lighting instructions indicate the table lamps are screw-base incandescents, not LEDs.

      Hmmm . .  another mystery to solve when I decide to fix the lighting.

      Will be interested, I was always informed the table lamps were LEDs, but have never pulled them apart to check.

      Let us know when you do investigate.

      Just glue a piece of styrene across the ribs to hold the battery and call it done

      It's not rechargeable, needs replacement on occasion.
