Large Scale Central

AMS Rolling Stock and stuff

Just an FYI: On the One20-point3 group, a member in CO has posted a bunch of AMS stuff for sale. (I got a Hartford Hobart Estates logging caboose, complete with smoking stove and stack.)

He has a set of Accucraft San Juan brass coaches, all 4 for $1,500. They retailed for $500 each. It will cost probably about $500 to ship them, as he has original boxes (I think) but no packaging - he lets UPS take care of it at your expense.

The pics are on his realtor site:

Pete’s email is pete (at) denverrelocation (dot) com.

The full list of what he has left is here:

Pete, Where or what is that One20-point3 group on? I’m intrigued.

Thanks

Jason

Way, way back in the dark ages, before Facebook and smartphones, there was a service called egroups. It was bought by Yahoo and is now Yahoo Groups. It is basically a text-only email list to which you subscribe, and it sends every email to every subscriber. Such groups are tending to die out as they do not support inline pictures, etc. One20-point3 is still occasionally active. Of course, you have to have a Yahoo ID to get access.

Here’s a recent ‘digest’ email I received.

There are 2 messages in this issue.

Ohh okay. Never knew that. Thanks Pete

I was the owner / moderator of about 6 Yahoo groups. With yahoo groups being sold and then put on the Google cloud, many groups have migrated (and it’s an easy process to copy all files and pictures and posts) to groups.io.

groups.io looks almost identical to Yahoo groups, has almost identical feathers AND allows embedded pictures.

Progress is wonderful.

I was the owner /moderator of about 6 Feather Groups on Boohoo. However we never migrated only dusted and molted but never found almost identical feathers when sharing pictures that didn’t allow embedding pictures.

Pete (the seller) says:

"I am rebuilding list 4.0 and will send it to you. Mostly Bachman & LGB rolling stock.

Except for the Colorado Mining Company 0-4-0 saddle tank engine, and 2 Hartford highside gon kits there is no 1:20.3 stuff left."

I’m not surprised he sold out of all the AMS cars. His prices were low and from the pictures the cars pristine. I almost got in on the last of them but was to slow to reply. By the time I did they were gone. To bad too because my son lives a half mile away from him and I visit every year.
