Railfan luck can be a bit spotty at times.

Most photographers did manage some excellent shots, after all she ran for quite a distance. She was in my county and thanks to a combination of tv hype and a summer type day crowds waited to see her run by.

I was fortunate in seeing her at work and being on her on my local heritage line back in the 1990’s when the owner at that time was Chairman of the line.

I guess I’m luckier than most here. I can get in my car and twenty minutes later I can be almost touching the ‘Flying Scotsman’.

Terry…I’m living near several Scotsmen, but I have no desire to touch them…I would rather spend time with a fine Scottish Lady…!!
