Delaware Lackawanna & Western Milk Car

This is one of those projects that I had a Silver Boxcar around for a long time. I knew that one day I would find a use for it.

I bought “Railway Milk Cars, Volume 3” , which was "DL&W Milk Cars Part 1. Anyway, lookee here:

Apparently they had made 2 milk cars out of boxcars, #1798 &1799. So I created decals on the old laser printer.

One end had the refrigeration unit. I pondered about getting the correct parts for a mechanical unit with sliding doors, then decided this door from the bottom of a 4 wheel caboose toolbox looked good enough. Otherwise the thing would never had gotten done.

This is the other side. The 2 small access doors need some indication of hinges.

Here’s the 2 ends.

Another project done that only took me 5-10 years.

Nice work Lou. Did you make two and could you put express trucks on mine.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Nice conversion.

Well, Hollywood, it could be arranged if you have enough money.
