My gaggle

Thanks to the purchase of Goose #5 from Don Howard, my gaggle of geese has grown by one.

Bob, nice. I have 2 plus the Casey Jones.

Sweet!

I was just in Ridgway Colo where they have a running replica. I was happy to see they now have a loop of track for rides…

All three of these need a new control system. The #6 has an ancient RCS (and a broken driveshaft), the #2 has an old TE, and the #5 is track powered.

Bob, I re-built the universal on my #6 by wrapping it with wire and pinning it. It’s held up very nicely since then.

I do like that #5. I had the pleasure of riding that on the C&TS a while back. I’d like to get some kind of self-propelled passenger thing for the TRR. I’m torn between a doodlebug kind of thing or a #5 kind of thing. I really need to see what a pair of Bachmann 45-tonner trucks looks like under an Accucraft coach.

I am apparently unique here. Mine didnt split where they “traditionally” split, but the carrier itself broke on both ends.

I did order a bunch of bits from SDP, and this one works, but its not sliding. I plan on using some of the parts from it, some bits from the original, and some brass tube.

I installed the Zimo MX645 and changed the 1.5 volt lights to 12 volts (too much current on 1.5 volts) . There are recorded sounds for the different geese on the zimo site. I can load and configure these right here in MA for you. These will work on DC and DCC and wired version is only $85.00 plus ma tax.

Zimo document for one sound:

Who is SDP so I can order some, or at least look at the

3mm diameter shafts if I recall?

TIA

Stock Drive Products. http://shop.sdp-si.com/catalog/

I see they do have telescoping universal shafts, but the minimum length seems to be over 3"

Some day I might attempt to get a “set” of all the geese made… it would be fun since I have at least ridden one in Golden, CO.

Bob, this is RC4WD offerings, and there are short telescoping shafts https://store.rc4wd.com/Punisher-Shafts_c_27.html & https://store.rc4wd.com/Punisher-Shafts-118-42mm–50mm-157–196-3mm-Hole_p_4958.html
