RCS 'Lyn' whistle?

Would somebody be kind enough to point me at Tony Walsham’s post detailing the new ‘Lyn’ whistle sound?

I’m getting conflicting answers from the dealer here in UK that don’t make much sense to me.

TIA

TAC says - “I’m getting conflicting answers from the dealer here in UK that don’t make much sense to me.”

I know you consider Canada as still one of the “Colonies”, but if you are truly across “the Pond” you best your fuzzy friends and yourself on a fast plane are you are going to miss “the Invasion”. Time is fleeting".

By the by - who’s Lyn and why are you wanting to whistle at her/him/it?

Lyn and Ig are cousins…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

For those Live Steamers who desire a nice sounding electronic whistle the MRW LYN-WHISTLE is now available from RCS.
This is a single play per trigger and is a genuine recording of a real whistle.
The pcb simply plugs into any spare channel and is powered by the Rx battery.
All that is needed is a suitable 8 ohm speaker.
Press the “LYN” pic to hear the sound.

Full details are here.

“LYN” was a Baldwin built 2-4-2 tank loco used on the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway in the UK.
Bachmann made a fantastic model of her that performs excellently.

Thanks, guys. It seems that it just hooks up to any receiver, but the resplone I got over here tells me that I have to have a Loco-Sound set-up to hook up to. Obviously - well, to me, anyhow - this would seem to be a dead-end since I don’t have any kind of Loco-Sound anything in my live-steamers.

Hi Tac.

The only requirement is to add a suitable 8 ohm speaker.

The device is completely self contained and simply plugs into any spare channel on any brand of Digital Proportional (DP) Rx. It is powered by the Rx battery.

This version is specifically for small locos with high pitched whistles. If it sells OK, MRW will consider bringing out other whistle sounds for larger Live Steam locos.

At the moment all it does is trigger a recorded whistle sound with a nice echo quality.

What we are hoping for ultimately is to make the whistle sounds quill-able. That is, they can be “played” by the variable proportional signal from a DP Rx.

A little stream of steam would be nice too!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Misfortuously, radio-generated steam is not even a dot on the horizon, but I know what you mean…

Thank you, Sir. Odd though it sounds, the whistle, complete with its emotive echo, sounds just like the ex-SAR Bayer-Garratts on the WHR. It is that loco that I wish to apply the first unit to.

ATVB for up here and around the corner.

Hi Tac.

I think these will be quite useful for a variety of locos.

Because they are so light and thin they qualify for the very low cost Large Letter rate Air postage. I really want to make them post free.

Unfortunately, if you order it through the cart you will be charged postage until I can figure out how to send them post free via Pay Pal.

For now the only way I can do that is for the buyer to just send me the funds direct with a note as to what it is for.
