      Hopefully James will send us a completed copy, I have seen the raw footage so will be interesting to see what they do with it.

      Thanks to St. Luke, over in the Olde Country we are experiencing a lovely - and quite warm during the daytime - St. Luke's summer.  It is set to last another week, so train operating is on the timetable at some point during most days.  This coming week-end the clocks go back to UTC (GMT) so less daylight in the afternoons.  I have no winter projects - as far as the railroad is concerned - but I wonder what all you guys that meet up at Fred's during the summer have planned for the colder days and darker nights - solely in a railroading sense.

      Alan;

         For most hobbyists, their hobby never actually stops, if it is a part of their lives.  The social part can continue, with get-togethers, and meetings of all sorts.

      A great number of the OVGRS gang, are also involved with interests in other scales, or areas of interest in Rail Transport, for example historical research, or photography.

        Some of us use the "Dark Days of Winter" as time to catch up on maintenance of equipment, for ourselves or others. Some take part in model railroad flea markets, shows, or even restoration of real railroad equipment.  One of our guys is involved in aeroplane restoration, and another in automobiles.  Then there are the ones who bury themselves in the basement, enjoying "N" Scale railroading.

        The hobby of "Model Railroading" is, or can be more than just watching a train running in circles in the garden, although, that does bring pleasure to many.  The hobby has unlimited areas of interest worth investigating.

           As I mentioned at the start, the great people from all walks of life, you meet through the hobby, can contribute to a wonderful, educational, and motivating SOCIAL LIFE, that can continue, unaffected by the seasons of the year, or the weather, on any day.

      ...even during, and after the last train of our operating season, completed its journey, a lot of our OVGRS/RP&M friends, were already sharing thoughts about "Next Year"...the plans for improvements, repairs, and modifications.  "Our Railroad", just like a real one, is NEVER finished. We nurture it, and allow it to stay alive, and thriving.

          Already people are starting to make improvements.  I was just handed new magnetic blocks for the dispatchers board, along with assurances that the schematic map is already on the drawing board for updating...only a little thing, but every "Little Thing" adds to next year's pleasures.

      Thank you, Alan, for asking.
