“Strasburg Rail Road was the victim of a “elaborate and sophisticated” cyber attack that stole $80,000 from the historical site’s accounts.
“We confirmed a cyber attack on Wednesday,” station master Steve Barrall said Friday morning. “We believe it happened a little earlier than that. Exactly when, we’re not sure.”
The theft was discovered, he said, “through the vigilance of some of our employees, based on some strange activity happening within our corporate files.”
State police are investigating the theft.”
