Been looking for 6 wheel trucks to perhaps build a mason bogie with and have gotten some very good replies, now interested in finding out how big aristo-crafts are compared to USA trains ones, understand that the USA train ones is bigger, does any one have any knowledge of these 2 brands? thanks Bill
Bill, you mean 6 wheel tender trucks right? Not just any6 wheel trucks like passenger ones?
Not to mention that to the best of my knowledge, all Mason tender trucks are of an ‘arch bar’ design for 2 axle and a triple pedestal design for the 3 axle trucks. See http://www.ross-crain.com/rr_dsp2a-266T.htm . I believe that any of the manufactured trucks would be too modern, unless of course you can live with that much deviation from prototype.

A book worth having if you don’t already is Mason Steam Locomotives, by Arthur W. Wallace, 2004 by Heimburger House Publishing. Those 6 axle trailing trucks are rather interesting looking things. Double crossbeams/bolsters; equalizing levers/leaf springs above the sideframe (if there is enough material there to call it that) and pedestals;

If you’re not already familiar with it, there was an entire Master Class on scratch building a Mason Bogie on MyLargeScale back in 2006. I believe most if not all the instructions are still available. I did an article on building the MB 3 axel truck from Laser-cut styrene parts. I know you can still download the pdf files for all the components but I don’t believe there is still anyone around who can cut them for you. Maybe you could sweet talk someone into it.

OK, I will get you the measurements some time soon, I have the Aristo Tender with the 6 wheel trucks, and a USAT Hudson with the 6 wheel trucks, plus the Aristo 6 wheel HW passenger trucks.
