If the Big Sound '97 is like the 2K2, you can make it do some cool stuff. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Yes, forgot to add the decoder is wired to the Phoenix unit and you can control the horn (F2),bell (F1),the volume levels on F5 & F6 and Headlights (F0) and the overhead light pulses (F3).

It is not. The 2K2 and later Phoenix boards are programmable. The Big Sound 97 uses factory programmed sound chips. I have several of each You can get th chips re-programmed by Phoenix for about $20.

If it still does the start-up routine that you hear at 3:02 into the video (i.e., open then close the door, then crank the engine over three times to catch), like the 2K2, you can still make it go through this routine before leaving if it receives a “burst of energy.” The cab even “jerks” when the operator climbs up into it as the door opens. If you bring up the power gradually, it ignores the routine. The routine occurs at about 2.3 volts to the board and you must leave it at that voltage for the duration (about 20 seconds) or it just goes to the horn/engine run.

Sale Pending.
