Large Scale Central

Picture posting

OK, I need someone to explain to me how to load a photo, again…

What I have done before doesn’t seem to be working now…

Thanks, in advance…

Oh yeah, and please keep it in simple terms…

OK - first look at the address bar in your browser. Does it begin with https:// ?? If not, that is your problem. Log out, then log in again at https://largescalecentral.com

I just posted two of your pics from your freight shed using the same method that has worked since the last upgrade over a year ago so your technique should be OK, so your connection is probably not secure (logged in with https://).

Guess the problem is, I don’t get the https:, all I get is http:

Have logged out and in twice, no s…

Andy, Jon probably knew the answer to this but do tou use Mac or PC?

am a PC, not Mac

Then I won’t confuse the issue by adding my two cents!

you don’t get the https, you have to put it in your address/bookmark yourself.

Greg

What Greg said. DELETE your LSC bookmark or shortcut. Copy the HTTPS link I posted above (highlight then control-c), log out, then paste that link (Control-V) into the address bar of your browser. You should now see HTTPS. Save a new bookmark / shortcut.

I can get the site with the https: showing, and the freightshed with the https: showing…

I can even get the copy link quoted into the insert image thingy and when I check the link in the insert image thingy, it shows the https: but the the picture still doesn’t show…

I do appreciate all the help… thanks…

Andy,

Go through your procedure and try and post a picture. Then I can look at your code and try and diagnose the problem for you. OK?

Joe,

1st - I open LSC…

2nd, I open the freight shed in a separate window.

3rd, I open the picture I want to post.

If I right click on the picture, it shows me 5 possible choices, only one that even looks good is the ““copy””… However, when I click Copy, then try and post it in the Insert image window, nothing shoes up…

4th - I right click on the photo url above the photo displayed.

5th - I click the copy link entry.

6th - I insert that link into the insert image window.

and, that’s what I get…

hmmm, I just noticed the end of the link, it says “”-jpg"", not “”.jpg

I wonder

nope

Dad …Like Joe said try posting a picture hear I’m willing to bet you are using IE but that matters not …just shut up and do as Joe requested NOW !

QUIT LOOKING AT CODE…YOUR CODE IS FINE AS IT WORKS FOR OTHERS

Lets see if I can further confuse the issue.

Hit copy image address not copy image

Click on the insert image box in your post

Right click the Source line and click paste

Click on the dimensions windows and choose something at about 800 x 600

Click OK

That should get you there.

Andy,

At step 4 right click and select “VIEW IMAGE” not “COPY”. When it opens in a new tab copy that URL to paste in the insert image window.

From your Freight Shed the code should look like this … https://largescalecentral.com/FileSharing/user_3173/Sparky%20Joe/Porter3-medium.jpg

Notice my user number and name. It will post like this->

…or use the copy image location (what browser are you using btw?)

He don’t know Joe …But I bet he wishes he wouldn’t have thrown me out of house when he did!

Sure could use me now couldn’t ya’ !

Joe, I have been using Microsoft Edge (I guess that’s what they call it now) to post pictures in the forum topics… I use AOL to view LSC 95% of the time…

But, when I right click now, it doesn’t give me any of those options you stated…

I don’t have Edge, but I do have Internet Explorer 11 ( it’s one step before Edge) and I’ve been playing with it for a while tonight and I can’t figure a way to post from the Freight Shed either!

Why don’t you go the easy route and install Mozilla Firefox as your default browser? It’s free and it works great. Here is a link to download the installation file…
