Yes I also cut my own, but I have to say Michael's cedar far surpassed the quality of the typical cedar fence boards I find locally and the harder clear cedar at the lumberyard is very expensive

And he cuts and planes to precision, so pays yer money and takes yer choice

Wow, he actually planes the pieces to final surfaces. Can't beat that, Jer.

      Cliff,

If your serious about cutting your own wood, buy a mini table saw. I use mine for just about everything.

I wonder how much it would be to ship you a dozen or so 6' long redwood from out here on the west coast.

      Hmmm that scales out to about;

Finally got your joke John, haha!

I had to use a calculator though... and take one shoe off. But I got it!!

However, I don't think I'd be able to mail order 5.33' long boards.

      Cliff:

Are you thinking about Garden Texture?   Given what I see on this site they do not appear to be quite the business that I remember from a couple of years ago.

Yes!! Thanks Mark, I thought I was going nuts. Yes, that's the company.

I was wondering if they sell miniature lumber, have to check it out.

      Thanks again!

Just shot him some questions, I'll post on any answers. His buildings look like he may be using cypress, which would be fine (if it's the species they sell in FL). He's in GA. We'll see.

      SPJRR's retirement notice is here.

      http://www.spjrr.com/retire.html

They say that they'll continue to cut & process orders till stock runs out, which may take a year.

As of 9/1/2016, we have decided to retire once existing raw material is gone.  This may take over a year.

We are past the 1 year point now.......
