Sound in 0-4-0 slope back tender

I have a question about sound. I have an Aristo 0-4-0 loco and tender that I put DCC in a couple years ago. I have taken the DCC out and went back to analog DC. I put the sound board back into the tender and now have noise. the only thing different is the speaker ( old one didn’t work for some reason).
Anyone have an idea as to why there is noise now? Here is a short video of the sound.
Thanks for the help
Richard

Are you powering it with PWM?

Where is the chuff switch?

Did you try having it moving?

Greg set me straight on this a few months ago with mine. You really need PWM not linear DC and it has to be rolling because the chuff sensor is on the front axle of the tender. With PWM it will start to work at MUCH lower throttle setting than linear DC because the sound board sees the full voltage of the pulses and doesn’t average the off time of the pulse train as a motor does. (did I say that right Greg?). Mine now works 4.0

100%, please go to the head of the class!
