trestle-ette rebuild

This is on the lead to the Whiterock Lumber Company warehouse.

The last trestle lasted 1:1 over 20 years, and was kindling. Scary, as it’s the leg for the engine to push back into Whiterock Retail Oil Depot.

To fit each piece to existing rock structures required a whole afternoon. Titebond III, then an air brad nailer. Then fit back into place, then file/grind for final fitment.

This morning it all got Behr’s weatherproofing. Now dry enough to handle.

Tomorrow or Thursday it gets glued down with exterior construction adhesive to the rocks. Gonna give the Behr’s time to dry. This spur will be nice on Train Night this Friday.

Nice work Dave…just like a proper narrow gauge…

I like that.

I have a similar situation that is balanced on rocks and this is would be a good way to shore it up.

Bob Cope is right, Very narrow gauge.

It’s in, glued and screwed. Track down, ballast in…I even drilled the rock on the station end, inserted a plastic Moly and screwed the end down so it doesn’t try to raise up.

About time the track Gang got out a repaired that siding, I was always worried I would lose a couple of loaded flats down the hill! Thank you TOC. Paul
