A big thank you from Toronto as well.  I don't care what the temperature is next year I hope to make it down.  Don't let it conflict with the Invasion!!!!  Thanks to our hosts and hostesses, Noelle enjoyed herself as well.  Incidentally she got to see a lot of what the railroad bug is all about this weekend.

After all the action in NH and MA we went to Cape Cod to meet old RR buddy Max Sarazen and we also visited LSC member "Cape Cod Todd" Haskins, a prolific modeler who has a very pleasing backyard railroad and some very fine bashes and scratch builds.  Like Johnnychuffchuff, he is blessed with a lovely Irish wife, so Noelle and she had a good ole chinwag - "enjoying the craik" while Todd and I chatted about trains and things out there in the yard.  After that we motored - also through White River Junction, just like the other Canucks - where I bent down, kissed the ground and did appropriate obeisance to the railroad gods.

A couple of decades ago in one of the mags there was a most interesting article about this location and the Railroad activities there.  Today a B&M 4-4-0 and caboose are on display under roof, and while we were taking pictures Vermont Central switched some cement hoppers into a southbound train.  Then Noelle decided she wanted to chase up a good location so she could take a pic of an old railroad bridge.  Baby steps - she may be becoming a railfan after all.

Continuing North, we attempted a meet at Don Howard's home in Northern VT, but  I think there must have been a misprint on the orders.  Don and I missed each other.  All the same I had the opportunity to admire the magnificent country garden which is the creation, I understand, of Don's wife.  We will try to meet-up again some other time.

      Cheers everybody!

On 89 South cross the Connecticut River, the state line between Vermont and New Hampshire.

      Take Exit 20 marked Lebanon.

At the bottom of the exit ramp turn right at the traffic lights onto the middle lane of 12A west towards Plainfield.

At the first traffic light turn left.

The entrance to Dangelo's is on your right.

The large Number 9 is my favourite. Freshly Grilled Sirloin Steak, Onions, Bell Peppers & Mushrooms with American Cheese.

I wanted to do a final wrap up of TrainOps 2018, since things got real busy here in the last six weeks or so.

It looked like everyone had a great time, and Martha and I enjoyed seeing everyone, even though we barely get time to actually visit with many of you.

Bob Hyman again wins the From Farthest Away Award.

Eric's train on Friday was great to see going around the RR.

We had less issues this year with the track, due to the ongoing track replacement project.  There was one issue in one direction on Friday, which was resolved.  I dont recall any issues Saturday, at least none bad enough that people told me about them.

Thank you all for making TrainOps a fun weekend.

Bob, it was a great time...  And I agree, track problems were at a minimum..

However, next time, can you make it a tad cooler and less humid???    hehehe

      Thanks...

Yes, it was a great time!  How is the remodeling gone?  Close to done?  It had to be a bitter sweet to have all those people there and then immediately tear the place apart for the changes and upgrades.  We are already marking the time for next year.   Thank you and your absolutely wonderful wife for putting up with us.

Yep, bathroom/laundry is done.  Thats whats been taking up all our time since TrainOps.  Finally did the last bit of painting this week.

It was great to see your rig, we're definitely considering a Super-C over a Class A

Don't Forget Ken Brunt's favourite "Golden Palace Egg Rolls" here in Ottawa...always a great treat on Friday, or Saturday evenings...here in Ottawa.

       Sometimes both...!!!

      D'Angalos?

Slow day ..., I remember when HoJo's ruled the turnpike.

If the "Mass Pike" is I-90, then, yes, that is how we came in to and out of the state.  I'll have to keep my eyes open for the signs advertising this.  It will be totally my responsibility since the authorities are constantly warning me of the possibility of "SOLAR GLARE" while driving east in the morning hours.  Very interesting signs every few miles.
