back yard train station

I showed this to my wife - she immediately told me not to get any ideas…

Thank you for sharing - neat way to display a collection.

Steve, I get ideas all the time. Some of the good ones I try, and may of the “bad” ones I also try. I suspect that I am not alone in that. So did you just smile, nod, and say “Yes Dear”, while you contemplated how cool it would be if you would do the same thing?

Yup - same as she does to me. Many times tell her no we shouldn’t do something or purchase something. I go away on a business trip, come home and have a surprise! Someday soon she is going to go visit her mom for more than a couple of days and come home and find the railroad infrastructure in place in the back yard. Every time we go to Lowes or Home Depot for lumber for projects in the house (restoring a 100 yr old Victorian) I seem to come home with more than I need for the project (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

LOL, that happened to my mom. She went to see her sister for a long 3 day weekend, and came home to find a railroad in our backyard. Her comment was; “I didn’t know it was going to be that big.” Like the garden hose, laying along the proposed right of way for a year, didn’t tip her off.

C’mon David,

Give the dear sweet lady her due.

A hose presents a flat 2 dimensional concept, but you put in embankments and trestles! Huge.

Will try and upload some this weekend. None on this PC at the moment.

That is a great way to display a collection. The guy needs to have large scale trains running through.
