Large Scale Central

Rekindling my music.

Last week, I joined the Lilac City Civic Band, after a long hiatus from music of any kind.

I play the Horn, which is often called the French Horn, to differentiate it from the English Horn, which is not a horn at all, but rather, a double reed instrument.

When I am in practice, if I haven’t played the Horn for a day, I notice a difference. If it’s been two days, another hornist can tell a difference. If it’s been three days, everybody can tell! It’s been ten years! I sound like a sick moose.

I’m getting better.

I’m having fun.

Hi Steve,

Congrats on picking the horn back up. I play trumpet in two community bands in the Northern Virginia area. It’s a lot of fun and its also good for maintaining mental abilities as I age.

All the best,

Scott

My wife sue plays baritone horn in the bath municipal band…concerts all summer! Lots of fun.

Very cool Steve! I love the French horn.
