Piko track bumpers

At ECLSTS this year, I saw the Piko track bumpers, and bought a handful to try out. They’re made for code 332, but they seem to fit fine on code 250. They’re only about 6 bucks a piece, and dont really have a Euro look

Those are on a piece of AMS code 250 track. They clip on pretty easily. Next up is to weather them with some Sophisticated Finished rust, and add a wood bumper with a metal face.

Nice, I missed those, don’t know how with all the other items I carried out of there!

Jerry

Cool, they look pretty durable.

They seem to be made out of the same kind of slimy plastic that we see in a lot of these kinds of items. We’ll see how well it holds the rust finish. Scrubbed it with soap and water and just put the base coat of the rust finish on.

Not quite as durable as his brick with “End of Line” written on it…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Yea, but you guys keep punting those into the neighbors yard!

We looked at it as a challenge…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Yea, but even after punting them that far, they still didn’t break, now did they?

How do they line up with couplers and can they be narrowed to a coupler + width?

Don’t need no buffer bumpers!.

The top of the standard Bachmann coupler lines up about with the center of the wood beam. There isn’t much to chop off side to side since the uprights are over the rail.

Thanks Bob,

I think I’d cut them back to the uprights and put a bumping pad for the knuckle. If they were going in a scale scene.

They should keep us out of the weeds.

John

Bob was that a show price?

cheers richard

Doesnt look like it was much of a discount. Trainworld has em for $7.99. I think I paid $6.99 ea for them.

Bob, yea, but you didn’t pay shipping…

Those look pretty good and will be even better painted up.

The price is certainly better then what the aristo ones are now going for.

First two coats of rust, and a temporary un-weathered cedar bumper.

You going to do a yellow and black chevron pattern on the face of that there ceder?

Looking Good

cheers richard
