Better Homes & Garden Magazine

The Producer for Better Homes and Gardens Magazine contacted me out of the blue and they would like to do a feature on the Tortoise & Lizard Bash. She will come by to check out the garden next week.

Tod,

That is really cool, I know it will work out right, you have a great garden railroad.

Rick

That is great, good luck on the story

Dennis

Congrats and nice!!

Cool! Please let us know how it goes.

Great.

Be looking for the write up. Let us all know how it turns out. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

That sounds good, Todd. Keep us posted on the progress. Will be looking forward to reading the article.

Thanks guys. Will do.

Great news! My wife gets that magazine I’ll have to watch for the article.

The Omaha World Herald did one on my railroad about 30 years ago.

Don

Now that is cool and it could get others excited about RRing in the Garden.

Congratulations, Todd! Looking forward to reading the article.

Sounds pretty neat.

Something to try if the interviewer plays the “they do model trains for the nostalgia” card - got an interesting look one time when I said nostalgia is irrelevant, these are models that do things right here and now.

The editor of Better Homes and Gardens came out today to view the railroad. The fact that she had her husband and son with her certainly didn’t hurt as they were all most impressed. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

From here she will pass it up to the next level. She has a good track record (>40 articles) and thinks this should be an easy decision. They may also do a video. Photography and possibly video would occur in the second week of June.

Way cool Todd! Just the PR this hobby needs.

Maybe, just maybe, she’s trying to convince them to join her in making a railroad?

Nah…, she was going to drop them off in Newport to do some sailing while she met with another client down there.

But it looked like they were getting some ideas too…

Way cool Todd

Cool!

Id even buy that issue. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Your interview will be not only nice publicity for your layout, but the garden railway hobby in general. Let us know what issue it will be in.
