First post here, and it is a problem. Our beloved U-Lok “Gustav”, LGB Model 2070, lost one of the srcews that holds the drive wheels to the axle (see attached photo). When the wheel fell off, the spring loaded contact show that brings electrical power from the wheel to the electrical bus shot off across the yard. My closest hobby store with trains is literally an ocean away, so I am hoping that there might be hardware store or Radio-shack store equivalents I can use.

I have contacted a supplier based on referral, and they have neither returned my phone call nor my e-mail. Something about the 808 area code, I guess…

I’ll keep looking for a part supplier that will answer, but, in the meantime, I would appreciate any suggestions.

The screw you need is a stocked item at trainli.

Call on Tuesday ( I only go there on every Tuesday) and I can pull it out of my spare parts bin for you.

The brush and spring come in a kit of 4 pieces of each and is also stocked.

And its always nice to have a spare set of brushes (power pick ups) and springs on hand.

Thanks so much. It is on my to-do list for Tuesday morning my time, which will be around 1100 or so your time. There are couple of other odds and ends that fell off “Gustav” over the years that I may inquire about, too!

Called today and spoke to Axel. He was most helpful, and he was able to source both my immediate repair parts and few of the detail parts that have fallen off over the years. To boot, he sent me the diagrams for the rest of my fleet, so I can ID other issues and get the rest of the old girls looking good again.

I know we did not get a chance to speak, but this proved a very positive experience for me, so thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.

Yes, 3 hours closer to Eric, but still a distance from San Diego.

Now I have a reason to go to Las Vegas…scoot down to Reno!

FYI, Reno is north west of Vegas. Trainli is within 1 mile of the airport, you could almost walk there from the airport.
