Problem with the 'other' LS forum?

Anybody here noticed, or is it just me that can’t find it for more than three days…

Worked for me yesterday, not working now!

Don

This is the url that I use and it’s always (and currently) successful - http://forums.mylargescale.com/

try this address… http://forums.mylargescale.com/

*Sorry Mark. I must hve been typing when you posted.

A blank page presents itself - and that is the address I’ve used.

tac, ig, ken the GFT and the Shady Dell Steamer Boys

tac, it must be your ISP then because it is working here. Your anti-virus software may be blocking it.

Home page is broken, other pages fine…

use this to get in: http://forums.mylargescale.com/search.php?searchid=806105

Thanks, Greg, but no coconut. I guess it’s a problem from this end, as Joe suggests…sigh.

Greg,

I agree the homepage link is broken, but the link that Mark posted is a better way to get right to the forums than your search link.

But tac says that he cannot get on using http://forums.mylargescale.com/ either!

Probably also causing some Internet routing issue between there and here…

I just took the link that I had that was right there, since I know it works and I am at work.

Greg

Can not get in through the home page and if I go in through the forums link it shows up but is not current. Things that say were posted “today” appear to have been posted a few days ago.

Another url variant that would not work starting 3-4 days ago;

http://www.mylargescale.com/Community/Forums/tabid/56/Default.aspx

So used Greg’s suggestion to get in, clik’d on Home tab and bookmrkd again … a url which does work.

Thanks

There are other LS forums?

http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/mylargescale.com

That page has been down for 48 hours that I know of.

This just worked, the active topics page which is my go to page

This is how I’ve been getting in.

Personally, I think the problem with their home page is in the picture link that everyone has been complaining about. There is a picture on their home page that continually changes and I bet that picture is not being found making the page “time out.”

I think they’re having significant server issues right now. The server the forums are on seems to be the only one working. The server that hosts the home page and the photo directories for all the members is offline, which means none of the photos hosted over there are showing up anywhere. (For instance, the EBT/TRR photo banner which usually appears in my signature here and elsewhere is not displaying. If you see it, the problem’s been corrected.)

We’ve let the site owners know something’s up. Haven’t heard a response yet.

K

You don’t think the Windows server that has the pictures has been affected by their attempts to fix the other problems associated with it?

I think that’s more likely… all of us have been bugging them about the pictures, and now, after all the months, they finally have stated the pictures were on a different server than the forum… and then a few days later THAT server or at least access to it goes funky.

A coincidence, I think not. That they are unaware of this, I think not. It took months to get just a small bit of information. No surprise no response.

The good news is I believe that they are attempting to fix it.

Greg

The other good news is that karma is a stone cold (word beginning with “b” that rhymes with “snitch”) and this seems like sweet, sweet karma for blowing off the whole picture thing.

In any event, my opinion (like… elbows, I know) is that without the images a lot of the info that would be lost if that site went away was already gone. Sad, but there it is.

Great shame, I think. A lot of good people post good stuff there. People, that is, who for some reason don’t post here. I like to get a well-rounded view of what is going on, without actually being part of any other forum that this one.

Call me crass, but I don’t mind.
