Thanks for all the feedback. I'm not sure I can live up to some of them.

Pete, these units can't run around with open doors. The double doors would extend 3 feet. You'd risk taking off a poor yardman's head when pulling into a yard track.

I hope everyone is having a good summer. I should start updating again in a few weeks. Here's a couple of teaser photos and a new video to hold you over.

      Thanks Guys.

Here's one more. I got the zebra stripes completed in the tapered section. It was a challenge to tape, but turned out pretty good.

Tomorrow I'm off to watch a couple of steam engines in action. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

Really looking sharp. I noted that taping problem doing offsets myself Shane. More praise on this build as I see I'm not the only one who found Toile is a great screen medium.

      darn spelling edits

David, I was lucky in that I didn't have to deal with any curves. I can't imagine trying to mask the nose of an f unit.

Sean, yes, summer is done. Oh wait, you mean the locomotive.  No, but I have made progress. I need to get motivated to get some build updates posted.

      Thanks Mike.

Sad News - The SD60f's have been retired and auctioned off. I don't know if they are being scrapped or will see service with other roads. When the SD50f's were retired, only a half dozen survived.

Rear end is complete and painted.

      Posing with a new friend.

      Thanks Guys,

If anyone cares, I use a Silhouette Cameo to cut sticker stencils to paint my markings.

For the CN orange, I used Dupli-color Chevrolet Orange (DE1620 by Sherwin Williams) over a coat of Krylon flat black. It must have the black undercoat or it will be way too orange. I applied the orange 15 minutes after the black and it covered extremely well. 15 minutes after that, I tried to apply the markings with Krylon and it was a near disaster. The Krylon reacted when I applied it over the orange. When I paint the cab, I will let the orange dry for at least a week before I attempt any markings.

      Shane

      Thanks Chris.

I redesigned the rear vents, and I'm extremely happy with how they turned out. They use stainless steel mesh, so they are pretty sturdy, and now sit nice and tight to the body.

      Thanks Guys,

I got the tail end pretty much complete. My coupler mount makes contact with the rear truck so I'll have to rework it.
