Large Scale Central

Rolling stock and weather.

This is what happens when you leave items out in the New England weather.

This is how it looked new.

Add Time , acid rain, snow , wind, dust/dirt and you get this!

Hmm I have some cars and some old engines that this would look good with!

Sean,

That natural weathering looks great (and severe).

Wow, Looks good Sean. Great job.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I’ve seldom seen a better weathering job! Most shortline cranes look almost as funky, so, I’d just live with it and enjoy the envious looks of all who see your wonderful artistry with the weathering brush!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Fantastic weathering work !

Hope you’re able acquire/share some pics of it out in the ‘real world’ (4-5 months ?) when presumably your track/railyard is again accessible

Beautiful Crane… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I do believe that Mother Nature has aided you in achieving the perfect natural look weathering job on your crane Sean. Don’t change a thing(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Bravo!!! That looks great. In a rusty almost ready for the scrap heap kind of way. Is the crane tender next?

It is, but I was wondering if I should update it with a more modern box car piece.

Great job Sean, very realistic.

Man I’m going to have to move… the air around here is caustic!

Nice!

I have left LGB and USA cars out for years and they don’t come close to that. Except for bird doo on the roofs, they haven’t changed much. In fact, some I brought in and weathered them myself, because I got tired of waiting for natural weathering.

I can only imagine what automobiles look like in your area that aren’t garaged.

Sean how do you get rust on plastic. who ever did the weathering did a great job. You know I live in Ma. also.

cheers richard

Geee… not out there Richard … that’s " The Berkshires "

Hmmmm… my rolling stock is starting to look the same … Hmmmmm!

Gee Sean your equipment is looking like it is beat to heck.

You might have to scrap those 2 and get some new cars at the upcoming Amherst show.

Dig it!!!

A Venom spewing rooster…

Reminds me of the type of weathering done by a guy named Mac McCalla using an airbrush. Took a perfectly good looking model and when he was done with it, it looked ready for the scrap heap…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
