Short Train Vid for Pete Lassen

As per request Pete! lol!

It was cold today, but sunny. I tried running both sd40-2’s together the other day and my Chessie sd40-2 was running about 1/2 the speed as the CSX. So today I thought I’d take them back out and see if I could figure out what’s wrong. After messing with it for a while I gave up and ran the CSX SD40-2 long hood forward with a real short train.

Cuz,

You have a headlight bulb burned out and no ditch lights?

What the heck?? That is SO ghetto and unsafe. I thought you ran a more responsible and respectable RR than that!

Also no Fred.

Thanks Matt, its nice to know people here do requests!!! Just off the top of my head I winder if the grease in the gears was so thick(cold) that it was harder for it to turn the gears. Looked to be a little breezy too!

Just like good friends do, kick a guy when he’s down. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)kidding.

Cuz, I didn’t even notice the bulb was out. lol. Was a little…well, a lot ticked at the other engine. lol.

David, I have a caboose…just didn’t bring it out. I wouldn’t mind having a fred though. Does anybody make such a thing?

No problem Pete!

I took the covers off the gear box’s. The rear wheels were turning about 1/2 the speed as the front. I put a little aristo gear lube on the points and it started working better. So, I took the front cover off and did the same. Now the front won’t turn at all with the cover on. It just grinds. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)With the cover off I can her the motor turning, but the gears aren’t. It’s pissing me off, so I’m going to take a break from it.

good time to take a break,… before you really break something.

Pete, got it back together and seems to run smoothly. If it’s not too cold tomorrow, or raining, I’ll get both sd40-2’s out for a test drive. fingers crossed it’s all good
