Took this thing off the shelf this morning and started cutting.
Windows and back of the cab gone. 1 1/2 inches cut off the rear.
Pilot and pilot truck removed.
Started a new, longer roof.

This should be an interesting build
I decided to shorten it further. And add a single axle trailing truck. Making it a 0-4-2. A little tender will be built as well. (Well, maybe. I have to make sure that will work.)
May I offer some inspiration …
They hung a cowcatcher on theirs…
Thanks for sharing your fun.

1:20.3 (ish) scale. The electrical connection in the center of the cab represents the oil and water lines from the tender.
After trying several ways of attaching a trailering truck, I opted for an LGB Euro mount. I’m still
trying different diameter wheels to balance the locomotive.
The wheels will need to swing a bit side to side as well as swivel.
Little more progress. 10 foot rule applies to all my builds, as I am not a Finescale modeler.
I really do like where this is going. But me, myself, I would prefer a full width front buffer beam, with steps bolted to it. But that’s just me.
Yes, all of my other backwoods lokies have full width bumpers. I wanted this a little different.
Looks good John, I can’t wait to see the finished product running on the new little indoor layout.
Very nice ! . . . (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Liar !
I do like the pizza oven and the heavy duty pizza paddle on the bottom of the firebox though. At least the guys can make lunch while they work.
